Snow NZ

A website portal with all the information you need to know about New Zealand’s ski resorts and snow conditions.

Snow.NZ is an information provider for New Zealand ski enthusiasts. The website has all the information about New Zealand’s ski resorts and snow conditions alone with live webcam feeds and historical weather information.

Our strategy was to collect all the realtime information and store in databases using effective mechanisms but still manage the website’s speed scalability and usability. We came with solutions to build various data grids on the site for the resorts, these include road conditions, weather status, present historical weather data with charts.

The website has a database of various operators related to skiing including rentals & retails, ski clubs, accommodation and resorts. We built a system to host these listing information on a separate data warehouse and an API to connect to the database to render details about these businesses on the websites.
